“Continuum” Linocut print on Chiri paper

I made this print while reflecting on how I feel the connections between ourselves and beloved animals under our stewardship are not severed by death.

The bond between an imprinted animal and human is not easily broken. I believe even after a loss the lessons and love remain. Caring for animals teaches us how to deepen the better parts of ourselves. The parts that pay attention, listen, act, and nurture are refined when we care for an animal well.

This is a hand carved block, rolled with deep red ink and hand printed on speckled chiri paper. The paper is naturally textured and this reads uniquely in each print.
